Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer
Through your own research, you will contribute to the development of higher education studies, while
supervising at doctoral and Master’s level (Associate Professor) and Master’s level (Senior Lecturer). Other
key points of contribution include • advising and contributing to teaching and learning policy development
• comment on the shaping national level policy and initiatives • participating in national level initiatives.
Bring your Doctoral degree reflecting a discipline pertinent to Higher Education Studies and backed by
university teaching experience – considerable experience at Associate Professor level, and less experience at
the Senior Lecturer level. At both levels, your career will reflect supervision of PhD and Master’s degree
students. As an Associate Professor, you have a demonstrable track record in leading in the higher education
sector, while other forms of leadership (formal or informal) will be recognised at the Senior Lecturer level.
Capacity-building of others is something you strive for. Administration and relevant management experience
have been part and parcel of your career to date. Similarly, interface with professional bodies is nothing new
