Mapping Monitor
(One permanent position exists in the following Provincial Offices: â North West: Mmabatho

(Salary level 9: R192 540 per annum)
Key performance areas: â Assist with the development of appropriate listing, demarcation and GPS capture procedures and methodologies â Assist with the review, identification, determination of strategy and acquisition of up-to-date datasets to effect accurate demarcation â Assist with the co-ordination and management of operations relating to the implementation of listing, demarcation and GPS processes â Verify and update place names and datasets â Assist with the building of a database of contracts that supply information and data to facilitate the demarcation process â Provide logistical and administrative support to the listing, demarcation and GPS capture staff â Assist with the review of technical and logistical issues linked to the implementation of the Master Sample â Participate in the building of effective partnerships with internal stakeholders.
Prerequisites: â Three-year tertiary qualification in Geography/GIS or related field, coupled with relevant experience â Experience in census and survey mapping operations â Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and at least one GIS software package â Driver’s licence
will be an added advantage.
Person profile: â Excellent communication and report-writing skills â Good computer skills â Ability to work under pressure.
