 In this role, you will:


 



  • § Provide guidance, leadership and support to other members of the Mozambique Project staff on MCH and related activities

  • § Follow the implementation of the national policy on MCH and advocacy for piloting new MCH strategies in the MCH model centers. It includes the technical support and supervision to all components of health and mother and child health in the health centers that will be supported by Management Sciences for Health, Mozambique.

  • § Mentor other members of the MCH team in technical aspects of the area

  • § Provide technical support and supervision to the community support program and its team that includes designing strategies to increase the involvement of the patient in the care, treatment and follow up services.

  • § Continuous assessment of the links between the services and their strengthening to ensure that HIV women and their exposed or infected children have access to care and treatment

  • § Provide overall guidance at both provincial and district level in developing their MCH strategic plan and operational plans.


Position requires a Medical Degree with diploma in MCH or HIV/AIDS. Preference will be given to applicants with Masters in Public Health. Experience is required in the development and implementation of HIV/AIDS programs at a district level for at least 5 years.  Strong supervisory skills are required, together with an ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate activities in several places and meet deadlines.  We seek applicants with previous experience working in Mozambique; an ability to develop program proposals and protocols; Computer literacy, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentations.  Successful candidate must be able to adjust in an environment of rapid change.  Position requires excellent written/ verbal skills in Portuguese and English and an ability to travel through the regions whenever necessary.
